Description : (at3g50660 : 228.0) Encodes a 22α hydroxylase whose reaction is a rate-limiting step in brassinosteroid biosynthetic pathway. The protein is a member of CYP90B gene family. CLM is an epi-allele with small, compressed rosette, reduced internode length, and reduced fertility, appears in selfed ddm mutant plants possibly due to loss of cytosine methylation. Transcripts accumulate in actively growing tissues, and GUS expression is negatively regulated by brassinosteroids. Localized in the endoplasmic reticulum. The in vitro expressed protein can perform the C-22 hydroxylation of a variety of C27-, C28- and C29-sterols. Cholesterol was the best substrate, followed by campesterol. Sitosterol was a poor substrate.; DWARF 4 (DWF4); CONTAINS InterPro DOMAIN/s: Cytochrome P450 (InterPro:IPR001128), Cytochrome P450, conserved site (InterPro:IPR017972), Cytochrome P450, E-class, group I (InterPro:IPR002401); BEST Arabidopsis thaliana protein match is: Cytochrome P450 superfamily protein (TAIR:AT5G05690.1); Has 31120 Blast hits to 31036 proteins in 1650 species: Archae - 61; Bacteria - 5303; Metazoa - 10591; Fungi - 5722; Plants - 7996; Viruses - 3; Other Eukaryotes - 1444 (source: NCBI BLink). & (q94iw5|c90d2_orysa : 196.0) Cytochrome P450 90D2 (EC 1.14.-.-) (C6-oxidase) - Oryza sativa (Rice) & (reliability: 456.0) & (original description: no original description)
