Expression profile for PSME_00012013-RA (PSME_00012013-RA)

Attention: This gene has low abundance.

Description : (p30298|sus1_orysa : 230.0) Sucrose synthase 1 (EC 2.4.1.13) (Sucrose synthase 2) (Sucrose-UDP glucosyltransferase 1) - Oryza sativa (Rice) & (at5g49190 : 229.0) Encodes a sucrose synthase (SUS2). The activity of the enzyme could not be assayed as proved to be insoluble (PMID 17257168). However, analyses of an sus2 mutant revealed a deficiency in sucrose synthase activity 12 and 15 days after flowering. There are some reports that SUS2 transcript levels are increased in leaves specifically by O(2) deficiency whereas other reports indicate that SUS2 is expressed only in seeds. Immulocalization shows that SUS2 is present in the cytosol of developing seeds, but, it also associated with plastids, though not located within them.; sucrose synthase 2 (SUS2); FUNCTIONS IN: UDP-glycosyltransferase activity, sucrose synthase activity, transferase activity, transferring glycosyl groups; INVOLVED IN: sucrose biosynthetic process, seed maturation, response to hypoxia, sucrose metabolic process, starch metabolic process; LOCATED IN: cytosol, plastid, membrane, plant-type cell wall; EXPRESSED IN: 6 plant structures; CONTAINS InterPro DOMAIN/s: Sucrose synthase, plant/cyanobacteria (InterPro:IPR012820), Sucrose synthase (InterPro:IPR000368), Glycosyl transferase, group 1 (InterPro:IPR001296); BEST Arabidopsis thaliana protein match is: sucrose synthase 3 (TAIR:AT4G02280.1); Has 1807 Blast hits to 1807 proteins in 277 species: Archae - 0; Bacteria - 0; Metazoa - 736; Fungi - 347; Plants - 385; Viruses - 0; Other Eukaryotes - 339 (source: NCBI BLink). & (reliability: 458.0) & (original description: no original description)
